The Ramot Hefer School, Emek Hefer (2004)

This is a competition proposal for a school for the ages of 12-18, situated in a Kibbutz, serving children living in surrounding rural towns. This is why we chose a diagram that emphasizes the usage of outdoor space, by planning the school as separate pavilions that surround outdoor areas for different activities during class breaks.

The plan is a superposition of two grids: the 'orthogonal grid', formed by the classroom pavilions, each containing five classrooms for each age group; the 'slanted grid' that contains art classes: plastic arts, performing arts, music and dancing classes. This superposition forms the outdoor spaces.
